MICHELLE GARRISON

Michelle Garrison
CFO
GetixHealth, LLC

Michelle Garrison is the Chief Financial Officer of GetixHealth, LLC, a privately held multi-million-dollar Revenue Cycle Management Services Company.  Garrison joined the GetixHealth team in 2015 and is currently responsible for managing all financial aspects of the company in joint with the CEO.  With her guided leadership her team ensures that GetixHealth has the proper financial controls, reporting procedures, talent, and systems required for financial strength, and for overall operating efficiency.

Garrison is a native of Atlanta, GA where she grew up during most of her life. She earned her Bachelor of science from Georgia Institute of Technology, where she was a member of the National Association of Black Engineers and the National Society of Women Engineers.  She went on to receive a Master of Accounting and Financial Management from Keller Graduate School of Management, in Atlanta, GA.  Garrison Founded, owned, and operated a commercial construction company from 1999 - 2011.  Before moving to the Houston Metro Area, Michelle broke a 43-year-old barrier in 1997 by becoming the very first black female electrical engineer to be hired by one of the largest electrical construction companies in the southeast area.

From 2012 – 2015 Michelle operated as the Senior Director for Strategic CFO, where she served as a CFO Consultant to many mid-market businesses in the Houston Area.  Michelle provided her unparalleled knowledge to various industries including rig manufacturing, logistics, retail, and commercial construction to name a few.  Garrison has a proven track record for strategically aligning her expertise in management, finance, and business to successfully mold and orchestrate companies for their upward mobility within their respective industries.

Garrison is an influencer and advocate of success in all aspects of life, and it exudes not only in her professional accolades but also in her personal life as well.  Michelle has a rich love for culture and family, she is married and the mother of four beautiful children.  She fosters a spirit for community service and is Cofounder of a life skills group name C.R.E.W. (Christian’s Ready Equipped and Willing) a group of high school student athletes that benefit from Christian based teachings and community service that prepares them for the transition from high school to college readiness.

Michelle is amongst the most recent recipients of The Top 30 Most Influential Women in Houston Award.  The honorees are selected because they have proven that they are diverse woman who encompass tenacity, discipline and diligence in all aspects of their lives. Awardees have broken barriers in their respective fields and left an indelible mark on the face of Houston in the various industries and communities they serve.  Michelle has also had the prestigious honor of speaking and moderating at the 2019 National Diversity Conference, one in which President Barack Obama was a Keynote Speaker.

Michelle and her family were struck with a challenge, when her youngest son was diagnosed with a right coronary anomaly, a life-threatening heart condition.  He underwent open heart surgery in December of 2013, and Michelle never left his side during his one-year recovery period before returning to full activity.  Supporting her son through such a trying time, lit a fire within Garrison. She knew that many families didn’t have the capacity or finances to withstand such a hardship.  Jointly with Texas Children’s Hospital, Michelle started the National Coronary Anomalies Foundation (NCAF) where their mission is to increase awareness of coronary artery anomalies and to help prevent sudden cardiac deaths by providing education and communication.

Michelle knows the importance of giving back, and her faith is what strengthens and motivates her to persevere no matter the circumstances.  Michelle’s favorite bible verse is Philippians 4:8, Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things!
